Dr. Gerald Brown
The Amherst Dental Practice is a family owned practice that was established in 1987, giving Dr. Gerald Brown over 25 years of experience in the field of dentistry. Dr. Brown was born in Houma, Louisiana into a military family that traveled all over the world until settling in Falls Church, Virginia. He graduated from Annandale High School and The College of William and Mary, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He then received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in 1986. After graduation, He practiced for a dentist in Oakton, Virginia for one year and then moved to Winchester where he established his private practice.
Dr. Gerald Brown received his fellowship for the Academy of General Dentistry in 1996. He then went on to receive his mastership in 2000 which required over 1,600 hours of continuing education.
He enjoys participating in Marathons and Ironman Triathlons as well as many other shorter distance events. Dr. Brown strives for a healthy lifestyle and loves cooking for his entire family. He currently resides in Winchester with his wife and three daughters. The entire family places high importance on community involvement. They volunteer countless hours to support local charities such as The Free Medical Clinic, The Laurel Center for Women and Children, The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), and The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. Dr. Brown has also volunteered with the Free Medical Clinic and Donated Dental Services of Virginia. They also like to travel and spend time together as a family with their 4 dogs- Neisha, Bitsy, Lola and Maggie.
